Tsintotas on bwinSPORT FM: “It’s difficult to manage 8 matches without a win, but we stayed united”

by

Panagiotis Tsintotas, speaking to News Bulletin 247 and Michalis Tsohos, emphasized the change in the psychology of Atromitos and the solidarity that exists in all its members, despite the negative results.

The goalkeeper of the Doves referred to the new page opened in the team with the arrival of Sasha Ilic and spoke about the goals that have been set, highlighting the changes that have taken place in the whole.

In detail, what he said to News Bulletin 247 and Michalis Tsoho:

For the victory over Mars: “The team took a while to find its footing. With Panaitolikos, although the victory came, the performance was not so good. Against Aris it was a complete performance, we played a very good game. We took the lead and even though we equalized, we scored a second and third goal.”

Because, based on the roster, Atromitos was considered a 6-team team before the start of the season: “It’s true, based on the results in the preparation, we thought that the team was at a good level to do very nice things. The league schedule didn’t help us either, because out of the ten games we played, seven were away, with all of them “up”. We didn’t start well at all, we were affected psychologically. Fortunately, in the last two matches we got two victories and I hope that the continuation will be similar”.

About whether there was something else besides the program: “Mr. Coleman was an excellent person and coach. The results didn’t help him, or us. Unfortunately, in a bad situation the one who pays is always the coach. What didn’t help us is the bad results. If we had more points, he would have stayed. Always, when there is such a change there is also a change in psychology, that’s why it happens. It seems to have worked, the team has made 2/2″.

For the fact that Sasha Ilyich’s collaboration with Atromitos was considered a surprise: “I don’t understand the term surprise. Atromitos is a very good choice, it can highlight both players and coach. This will work in this case as well.

He has also been through Greece, I imagine he will know some things, he would be tempted by the case of Atromitos. He made the choice and I want to believe that everything will go smoothly”

About what has changed with the arrival of the new coach: “Definitely the psychology. It doesn’t mean we all suddenly got better or learned to play better football. When two or three things change in the field, they come out. The team has a little more closed spaces and we are a little more aggressive, as a result we are better on the field. The coach has made positional changes to players, that works.”

Because the relationships in the locker room remained good even during the difficult times: “All the children, I have learned since last year, are excellent characters. As they embraced me from the first moment, they showed me that the climate is very good. Despite the bad results, we have gone eight games without a win and that is very difficult to manage. We stayed united and supported each other.”

For the goals that exist: “Based on experience, starting the year we looked at the end of the league and said we would be in the top six based on the roster and results in the pre-season. It would be better to look game by game, get points and in the end we will see where we will be. We have to stay focused and see. The break is coming, when we will have time.”

About whether he is thinking about the National Team: “Atromitos has done it before, sending players to the National Team. It’s every player’s dream to wear the Coat of Arms, but from then on I have to stay focused on being fearless. If the team isn’t doing well, I won’t be able to stand out either. There is always that thought. I hope it becomes a reality.”
