Chelsea became this Saturday (12) the 11th team to win the Club World Cup since FIFA started to organize the competition – this was the 18th edition of the tournament, held by the entity for the first time in 2000 and, consecutively from 2005.
Since 2017, the FIFA board has also recognized the Intercontinental Cup, played between 1960 and 2004, as a world title. Something that winning Brazilian teams have always considered.
On that occasion, Santos had the 1962 and 1963 conquests made official. Flamengo, 1981. Grêmio, 1983. São Paulo, 1992 and 1993. The same happened with all the clubs in Europe that won the competition in the period. Considering the two interclubs, there are a total of 30 champion teams.
