“Double” salvation for Lavrio in Marousi!

The match

The two teams were together in the first six minutes (12-13), with Lavrio firmly in front. Then and with Godika in front, the guests ran a 10-0 run, for +11 (12-23), with Woodard forming the 14-23 of the first period.

Thornton again sent Lavrio up 11 (16-27) at the start of the second quarter, with Yiannopoulos starting Amarousi’s counterattack and Amarousi going on a 13-0 run to take the lead (29-27) at 14′ . The visitors responded with a 2-9 individual score of their own, for +7 (31-38), with Woodard and Radulica narrowing the gap (38-42) at the end of the first half.

The pace of the match was also good at the start of the second half, with the two teams being close, but Lavrio was constantly in front, reaching +5 again (50-55), at 27′. However, in the remaining time, Maroussi responded and with Woodard and Hill did the turnaround and closed the third period with the lead (59-58).

With a basket by Yiannopoulos, the hosts went to +3 (63-60) at the beginning of the fourth quarter, with Lavrio coming back and passing with Zara’s three-pointer (65-67), in the 35th minute. Yiannopoulos equalized temporarily, with the visitors responding with Horchler as the protagonist and individual scores of 2-8 for +6 (69-75), until the 38th minute. The international forward then made 2/3 from the line, while nobody scored in the final minute and so the visitors took the victory with the final 71-75.
