Efes “stopped” Olympiakos!

The match

Olympiacos started with Fall, Peters, Brazdeikis, Kanan and Walkup. Thanks to Wright’s energy at the beginning of the second quarter, Olympiacos went on a 4-0 run, maintaining the point difference (28-27) until the 12th minute. Then, the “red and white” made many easy mistakes, losing the rebounds as well, with Thompson and Bryant sending Efes to +8 (35-27), at 15′. With Larentzakis and Williams-Goss, the Piraeus reduced (38-33), however the home team still did not… lose a three-pointer and with Willis (and he with 3/3) they went back to +11 (46-35), at 18 ‘. The fall was reduced temporarily, with Bryant sending the Turks to the locker room with a 48-37 advantage, who closed the first half with 10/14 three-pointers.

With Papanikolaou in front and on both sides of the floor, Olympiacos dropped the difference to single digits (48-41) at the beginning of the second half. Efes reacted with Clyburn and Larkin escaping to +13 (55-42), at 23′. The “red and white” responded with defenses and with Peters finding a shot from the perimeter, as a result of which they reduced (57-52), at 26′. Larkin kept the home team in check, but Kanan “heated up” and Barzoka’s team got closer to the point (62-61), in the 29th minute. However, in the last minute the “red and whites” did not have a similar continuation and the home team closed the third period with a 4-0 run (66-61).

Olympiacos entered the fourth period with unanswered mistakes, with Efes punishing them with a 6-0 run, going to +11 (72-61), in the first four minutes. With Kanan’s return to the court, the “red and whites” found a score and went down (73-66), but mistakes and big shots from Clyburn followed, with the home team escaping to +15 (81-66), in the 37th minute. From that point on, the Piraeus had no other strength, while Bartzokas was even disqualified with 4.8” before the end, knowing the defeat with the final 85-72.
