“Inclusion” of the 115 million euro funding in the programs of the Ministry of the Interior for the Panathinaikos stadium

Another step, formal but not essential, was made today (20/03) for the new stadium Panathinaikouas well as the Ministry of Environment and Energy made it official the financing of the Double Redevelopment with 115 million euros!

We remind you, yesterday it became known that the Municipal Committee of Athens approved the proposalwhich will be submitted to the competent ministry for a fund, which reaches 6.83 million euros and which concerns the necessary earthworks in order to clear the plot.

Today’s development, therefore, constitutes a formal procedure, as happens in similar cases, but it does not cease to constitute the “sealing” the “lock” of funding, in a relevant sectoral program, for the construction of the new football stadium of Panathinaikos in Votanikos, which is being promoted in the context of the large urban intervention of a metropolitan character, the well-known “Double Redevelopment of Votanikos-L. Alexandra”.

The Municipal Committee of the Municipality of Athens yesterday, in turn, approved the submission of a funding proposal, in the relevant notification of intent to finance the Ministry of Environment and Energy entitled “CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW FOOTBALL FIELD OF PANATHINAICOS AT BOTANIKOS”amounting to 115 million euros, in order for the operation to be officially included and financed under the Priority Axis “Green cities (urban renewals, modernization of the urban transport fleet, etc.)” of the TPA/PPA.

It is recalled that the construction project has been undertaken by the joint venture “TERNA S.A.-AKTOR A.T.E.-METKA S.A.” The new football stadium of Panathinaikos in Votanikos will be a modern and functional stadium with a capacity of up to 40,000 seats 4 Star International Standard according to FIFA/UEFA.
