On the agenda at today’s Board of Directors of the Municipality of Athens, the Double Redevelopment and the Panathinaikos Stadium

Haris Doukas’ position on the issue of the Panathinaikos stadium in Botanikos is awaited today with great interest in the municipal council of the Municipality of Athens. The topic of Double Redevelopment is item 2 on the agenda, with the start of the Board meeting at 15:00.

The mayor is expected to inform about the actions that have been taken so far to ensure the resumption of work on the land where the stadium will be built.

We remind you that the previous Board of Directors had locked in the amount needed to complete the earthworks.

The decisions of the municipal committee in detail:



During the meeting of the Municipal Committee on March 19, 2024, the following decisions were unanimously taken, also regarding the financing of DA projects in the Anaplasis II area:

1) Approval of the submission of a financing proposal, in no. prot. YPEN/DPDA/21824/508-27.02.2024 Notice of intention to finance the Ministry of Environment and Energy, entitled: “Construction of a new football stadium of Panathinaikos in Botanikos”, invitation code 317, A/A OPS: 7502, Amount 115,000. €000.00, which concerns the Deed entitled: “Construction of a new Panathinaikos football stadium in Botanikos” in order to be included and financed within the framework of Priority Axis 2.11 “Green cities (urban regeneration, modernization of urban transport fleet, etc.)” of the TPA/ PP.

2) Approval of the submission of a proposal to the Ministry of Development and Investments for the financing of proposals for new projects of the Municipality of Athens in the call with the number prot. per priority axis as follows:

“Earthworks for the removal of all kinds of materials at the Panathinaikos football stadium under construction in the Botanikos-Eleonas area of ​​the Municipality of Athens (1st SSE)” lasting 4 months (the duration of the main construction project is 36 months), with a total budget of 6,863,881 €.99 with participation in the National Development Program (NDP) €6,863,881.99, (a project implemented by the Directorate of Building Infrastructure).
