The performance in Portugal represented a comeback for Weston-Webb, current world runner-up. She had only finished ninth in the first two rounds of the championship and finally found her surfing best.

“I had a bad start to the year, precisely in two places where I thought I would do well. But I know that God has a plan and I will trust it. It is to continue surfing, trying my best and believing in myself”, said the Brazilian. .

With the triumph in Portugal, Tatiana gained six positions in the ranking and rose to fourth place, with 15,220 points. Ahead of her are Costa Rican Brisa Hennessy (17,355), Hawaiian Carissa Moore (16,495) and Peterson (16,495).

In the men’s dispute, the North American Griffin Colapinto won the best in Peniche. With a 7.67 and a 6.67, he added 14.34 and won the close decision against Brazilian Filipe Toledo, who totaled 14.20 (6.67 and 7.53).
