Fenerbahce: Close to Skylar Mays

by

THE Skylar Mays will be, as everything seems, the player who will be called upon to fill the void of the injured Scotty Wilbekin at Fenerbahce. The 27-year-old guard (1.91m.) is close to an agreement with the team of Sarunas Jasikevicius, who believes that he can offer creatively and executive what he wants.

Mays, the No. 50 pick in the 2020 draft after graduating from LSU, has four years of NBA experience playing for Hawks, Blazers and Lakers. In 105 games, he averaged 4.3 points (34.5% on 3-pointers), 1.7 assists and 1.2 rebounds in 10.6 minutes. Last season he played in Portland and LA and got off to a strong start, averaging 9.3 points, 5.5 assists and 2.2 rebounds in 22.8 minutes per game in 11 games in November with the Blazers, but then lost his spot. . So when he went to the Lakers he was limited to minimal minutes and played in seven G-League games with 21.1 points (43.2% on threes), 5.6 assists and 5 rebounds per game.

On September 25, he signed a contract to be in the preseason with the Timberwolves, but failed to win a contract with the Minnesota team, so he is preparing to play for first time in his career in Europe.
