Mourinho: ‘One day I will return to the Premier League, unless nobody wants me’

by

A few days ago, Mr Jose Mourinho went viral again with his statement, as he mentioned “I want to go to a team that doesn’t play in UEFA competitions. So if a bottom-of-the-table English team needs a manager in two years’ time, I’m ready to go, and I have nothing else to say about that.”

The “Special One” retracted this statement, as he pointed out that he cannot imagine himself in team fighting for survivalwhich for him is even more difficult than fighting for titles.

At the same time, he expressed his belief that at some point he will return to England and her Premier Leagueunless no team wants him.

In detail what he said:

On whether he meant he’s going to a team that doesn’t play in Europe: “I’m in a period of my career where I have to be happy all the time and right now, playing in European competitions, I’m constantly angry. But I’m not going to be in a team where I’m going to fight to avoid relegation, it’s too difficult. Honestly, I think it’s the hardest thing, more than fighting for titles. It must be very difficult emotionally, I think people who do this are very brave.”

On whether he would return to the Premier League: “I had three teams in England (Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham), I coached in four different seasons in England and I loved it. And socially, I’ve been lucky enough to live in many cities, but my family lives in London. London is my home, so one day I will go back to the Premier League, unless nobody wants me. One day, I would like to return, but I will be very clear: for the next two years, this season and the next, no one will take me away from Fenerbahce.”
