Karditsa announced Okoro

Francis Okoro will continue his career in Karditsa. Thessalian KAE announced the acquisition of the international Nigerian center, who was released by Kolossos until the end of this season, in order to replace the injured Nate Watson and Vassilis Christidis on the roster.

“AS Karditsas JAPONIKI announces the addition of Francis Okoro to the roster of the men’s team.

The Nigerian center signed a cooperation contract until the end of the season and immediately joins the team’s program. His presence will strengthen the positions near the basket, especially after the void created by the injuries of Nate Watson and Vassilis Christidis. The new athlete of AS Karditsa JAPONIKI was a player of Kolossos H Hotels until a few days ago.

Francis Shibuike Okoro is 25 years old (born August 7, 1999 in Imo, Nigeria) and, with a height of 2.06 m, plays as a center. He started basketball in America and in 2018 he joined the college of Oregon, with which he reached with his team in 2019 until the ’16’ of the NCAA final tournament.

He then transferred to St. Louis University, where he played for two years until 2023. In total, in the first division of the USA College League he recorded 133 games (88 as a starter) with 6.1 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1 block average.

In the summer of 2023, he started his European career in France with Rouen in the A2 league with 6.5 points and 4.3 rebounds, while in November of the same year he transferred to Lithuania, where he played with Nevezis in the A1 league had 8.8 points and 8.1 rebounds (second rebounder in the league).

Last summer, he came to Greece on behalf of Kolossos, with whom he played in 10 league games (4.0 points and 5.3 rebounds in 19 minutes of participation) and in 5 BCL games (5.6 points and 4.2 rebound in 16 minutes of participation).
