The EEC Announcement:
“The EEC informs the GBL teams and administration as well as the sporting public that GBL’s decision to increase foreign players available from 7 to 8 of whom they will choose 6 to participate in the dozen is a proposal to the federation for the time being, which will have to accept it and approve it.
We would like to inform you that the firm position of the EEC administration is that such fragmentary measures depending on the needs of the teams without them being part of an overall Greek basketball upgrade framework are not accepted and therefore this proposal as it is not partially applied and not part of a comprehensive framework.
We remain stable in our position to maintain the existing situation and call both the GBL administration and the PSAKK administration for a meeting next week to draw and agree to a common strategy on the subject of foreign players and Greeks in GBL with commitments for the coming years.“
