Elon Musk doesn’t like remote work and seems to give Tesla employees an ultimatum: get in or get out of the office.

In an email published Tuesday, the billionaires told Tesla executives that they could only work remotely if they spent 40 hours a week in the office.

“This is less than what we are asking factory workers to do,” Musk said in a purported email.

“For particularly good contributors,” Billionaire said, adding that he would review and approve them himself.

The email also states that the “office” is Tesla’s main office, not a remote branch office unrelated to job responsibilities.

It was initially unclear if Mask actually sent the email, but Tesla’s founders basically confirmed it today on Twitter.

“They should have looked like they were working somewhere else,” Musk wrote on Twitter.

Musk is open about his aversion to remote work. Last month, Billionaire responded to reports of Apple’s move that employees are working from home, suggesting that employees “dress at the gym” and “watch TV” instead of working.

This move may seem acceptable to Tesla employees, but it may indicate that Twitter employees are embracing a more generous work culture.

At the end of the year, Musk, the owner of a social media giant, said that as soon as he took over Twitter, “work ethic expectations would be extreme.”

I asked Tesla for a comment.
