SpaceX rocket carrying four astronauts to International Space Station launched

Russian cosmonaut Anna Kikina among them – Two Americans and a Japanese on the ISS

It was successfully launched from her Cape Canaveral Florida the company rocket SpaceX carrying four astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS).

It is the fifth mission to the International Space Station carried out by tycoon Elon Musk’s company on behalf of NASAbut it became symbolic as in the midst of the war in Ukraine, the US is sending a Russian cosmonaut into space.

THE Anna Kikina, Russia’s only female cosmonaut on active duty, is a member of Crew-5, which also consists of two Americans and one Japanese. This is the first space flight of Nicole Mann and her compatriot, Josh Kasada, but the fifth of the Japanese Koichi Wakata.

Nicole Mann is making history as the first Indian-origin astronaut and the first female commander of SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft.

After a journey of about 30 hours, the spacecraft will dock with the ISS. The members of Crew-5 will be welcomed by their seven colleagues already on the International Space Station (two Russians, four Americans and one Italian).
