Artists create life-size, life-size renderings of famous architectural landmarks
“What would Sagrada Familia look like if it were completed?”, ask the artists of the Dutch studio DRIFT. “Imagine a complete circular Coliseum,” they say. The studio’s artistic duo showcase their efforts to improve the drone software they’ve developed to create life-size, life-size renderings of famous architectural landmarks as they’re restored or completed.
Using aerial ‘sculptures’, installations and performances, the team works to transform the space with ethereal works of art that glow. “All works of art have the ability to transform spaces. The limited parameters of a museum or an art gallery are not always worthy of a set of works; often, rather, it highlights its dynamics in the public sphere or through architecture” underlined, speaking to Designboom, the Dutch artists.
Since 2020, the studio DRIFT, in collaboration with the company Drone Stories and the company Nova Sky Stories, uses its drone technology to reimagine the future of architecture. Its aim is to assist architects in the implementation of their future projects.
