Russia plans to incorporate its own artificial intelligence model Gigachat into IT systems at the International Space Station (ISS) today was said by the head of the Russian Space Service Roscosmos.
Gigachat, developed by Sberbank’s largest bank in the country, and is one of the two flagships of Russia’s large linguistic models (LLM), which is trying to cover the difference from the United States and China in the world struggle of artificial intelligence.
Roscosmos chief Dimitri Bakanov said that the next mission to the International Space Station, which will take place in the fall, will transfer whatever is needed to operate the model. Gigachat will help crew to process satellite images, increasing maximum resolution from one meter per pixel (pixel) to 0.5 meters.
“This is an immediate help for cosmonauts,” he said Bakanov, speaking at a technology conference in Moscow.
In April, a Russian spaceship carried American astronaut Jonathan Kim and Russian cosmonauts Sergei Riznikov and Alexei Zubricki at the International Space Station. The next Russian space mission to the International Space Station (ISS) is scheduled for November 27th.
Russia has announced that it will participate in the ISS by 2028 and plans to launch the first two units of its new space station in 2027.
Sberbank focuses on developing artificial intelligence agents, that is, TN creative systems, which are designed to process information, make decisions and take actions without immediate and continuous human contribution.
