Nintendo announced on Wednesday that it sold more than 3.5 million Switch games 2 in the first four days after its release, making the console the fastest -sold player to date.

Last month, Kyoto -based company predicted that the sales of Switch 2 would reach 15 million during the current financial year expiring next March, the Reuters news agency notes.

“Fans around the world are showing their enthusiasm for the Nintendo Switch 2 as an upgraded way of playing home and on the road,” said Nintendo of America chairman and chief executive, Doug Bowser.

The Japanese colossus has sold 152 million Switch devices since it was first released in 2017, creating a powerful brand name with titles such as “The Legend of Zelda” and Covid -9’s “Animal Crossing: New Horizons”.

The strongest second -generation version, which began to be sold on June 5, brings many similarities to its predecessor, but offers larger screen and improved graphics and is sold with titles such as “Mario Kart World”.
