Putin: “We do not ban grain exports from Ukraine” – What “solutions” he proposes in Kyiv

by

“Our partners have made many mistakes and are now looking for the scapegoat,” he said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed today that people are trying to blame Moscow for the problems in the world food market and denied that it has banned the export of grain from Ukrainian ports.

“Our partners made a lot of mistakes and now they are looking for the scapegoat,” he said.

“The situation will worsen because the British and Americans have imposed sanctions on our fertilizers,” Putin said in an interview with state television. He added that the increase in fertilizer prices “has nothing to do” with the Russian military operation in Ukraine.

Russian president says Ukraine could export grain from ports it controls, such as Odessa. Ukrainian wheat could also be exported through Romania and Poland, and even through Belarus, if sanctions against that country are lifted.

He insisted that Moscow was not blocking exports and was ready to “guarantee” their security through the ports of the Sea of Azov.

According to Moscow estimates, Ukraine could export 5 million tons of wheat and 7 million tons of corn. As for Russian wheat exports, they will increase to 50 million tons, Putin said.
