In a statement posted on Instagram, Depeche Mode states: “As you can imagine, it was at least a strange, sad, disorienting week for us here, at least. But we have seen and felt all your love and support, and we know this applies to Andy’s family.
“A few weeks ago we received the report from the medical examiners, which Andy’s family asked us to share with you now.
Andy suffered aortic dissection while at his home on May 26. “So, even though it was too early, he died normally and without prolonged suffering,” the post reads.
The band also added that they held a party in Andy’s honor, describing it as a “beautiful ceremony and a gathering with a few tears, but full of wonderful memories of who Andy was, stories from all the moments we spent together and a few laughs.” ».
“Andy was honored in a room full of many of his friends and family, our Depeche Mode family and so many people who have touched Andy and our lives all these years,” they said.
So thank you for all the love you have shown to Andy, his family and friends over the last few weeks. It honestly means a lot to all of us. “Instead, we will miss you, but you will certainly not be forgotten.”
