Two Russian submarines were shot down by Royal Navy warships in the North Sea as Britain continued to train Ukrainian troops.

The British submarine Hunter HMS Portland cast a shadow over two ships after appearing separately northwest of Bergen, Norway.

The cruise missile submarine Severodvinsk and the Akula Vepri-class attack submarine were observed traveling south along the Norwegian coast from the Arctic Circle.

Both Portland and its specialized Marlin helicopters are equipped with state-of-the-art sonar, sensors and torpedoes to quickly respond to unwelcome visitors.

One of the Royal Air Force’s new long-range maritime patrol aircraft, the P8 Poseidon, also worked to track submarines.

Royal Navy sailors are currently training Ukrainian Navy personnel in the operation of a Sandown-class minesweeper that is to be sold to Ukraine.

Ukraine’s Deputy Defense Minister Volodymyr Havrilov met British Defense Minister James Heppe and MP in London before visiting Scottish-trained soldiers and sailors.

While learning to operate the machinery on board, the minister spoke with Royal Navy trainees and instructors and watched them practice important skills at sea, such as weapons drills and damage control.

Mr. Hebei said the following. “The strength that Ukrainian soldiers and sailors train is incredible.

“They work by targeting the army that they know will be fighting a war in a few weeks.

Pulling off a workout to match this intensity and focus isn’t easy.

“The Royal Navy and the Royal Navy have been working long hours and are using all their operational experience to ensure that their new Ukrainian friends are sent into battle with the greatest chance of victory.”

The Sandown-class minesweepers were commissioned by the Royal Navy in the late 1980s and specialize in the discovery and neutralization of mines in the deep sea.

The program is part of a training program conducted by 1,000 British service personnel at military installations across the country with the aim of training volunteer recruits with front-line combat skills.
