West Bank: Palestinian killed by Israeli soldiers in Jenin

At least 54 Palestinians have been killed since late March, mostly in the occupied West Bank, including civilians and an Al Jazeera journalist, Shireen Abu Akleh, as she covered an Israeli operation in Jenin.

A Palestinian man was killed last Monday night by Israeli soldiers’ fire in Jenin in the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced.

“Dirar Riad al-Kafrini, who was shot by the Israeli occupation forces, was pronounced dead at the Jenin hospital,” the Palestinian ministry said in a statement.

An Israeli police spokesman confirmed to AFP that border guards were conducting an operation in Jenin, in the northern West Bank, without elaborating.

At least 54 Palestinians have been killed since late March, mostly in the occupied West Bank, including civilians and an Al Jazeera journalist, Shireen Abu Akleh, as she covered an Israeli operation in Jenin.

During the same period, 19 people – mostly Israeli civilians – were killed in Palestinian attacks. Three Israelis of Arab origin also lost their lives.
