Bolsonaro visits the coffin and pays tribute to Queen Elizabeth II in London

After speaking in an electoral tone to supporters in London, President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), following the rite of other heads of state, visited the coffin of Queen Elizabeth II this Sunday (18) and signed the sovereign’s book of condolences.

On occasions, Bolsonaro was accompanied by First Lady Michelle, who became a key part of his campaign in the race for reelection. On the visit to the coffin, he was also with Pastor Silas Malafaia, an ally who is part of the president’s entourage.

Earlier, Bolsonaro, speaking from the home of Brazil’s ambassador in London, addressed supporters living in the British capital. He said, among other things, that he will win the election in the first round, even though polls of voting intentions paint a difficult scenario for him, who loses to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).

The president will still attend a royal reception at Buckingham Palace, when he is expected to meet with King Charles III, and is uncertain whether he will be able to arrange bilateral meetings with other leaders who also went to London for the funeral of the queen, who died on the 8th. , aged 96 years.

On Tuesday (20), he will be in New York, USA, to participate in the UN General Assembly, where he should make the opening speech. No major meeting, however, is on the president’s agenda.
