EU Justice Commissioner Didier Reiders and his team are in a hotel shelter in Kyiv following the explosions that took place this morning in the Ukrainian capital.

Mr Reiders said in a post on Twitter: “Series of explosions in central Kyiv this morning. Thanks to the quick reaction of the security personnel, my team and I were quickly transferred to the hotel shelter. We are safe and awaiting updates.”

From the explosions in Kyiv there are dead and injured, as stated by a representative of the State Emergency Services.
