The representatives of the Serbs in Kosovo have decided to withdraw from all the institutions in protest of the policy pursued by Pristina.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the Serb national council in the town of Zvečan in northern Kosovo.

Ethnic Serb MPs have already submitted their resignations, while Serb ministers in the Kosovo government, mayors in northern Kosovo, judges, prosecutors and all government officials have also resigned.

Serbian policemen also left the police force and flashily took off their uniforms in front of the cameras.

Kosovo Serb political leader Goran Rakic announced that the decision to withdraw from the institutions will only be reversed if the Kosovo government withdraws the decision to replace Serbian license plates and allows the formation of the Union of Serbian Municipalities.

Demonstrations are planned for tomorrow in North Kosovo.

The government council met in Belgrade yesterday with the participation of the president of the Republic, Aleksandar Vucic.

The dominant issue was Kosovo, however no official announcement was made and no statements were made to the press.

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, was briefed on the situation in Kosovo personally by the ambassador of Russia and China in Serbia, while he also contacted the US Ambassador by phone.

Today Vucic informed the Patriarch of the Serbs Porfirio and the members of the Holy Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
