Lobster from Maine and sparkling wine from California: The menu at the dinner Biden – Macron

by

Biden and his wife, Jill, will deliver Official Dinner to Macron and his wife Brigitte and their other guests, at a pavilion set up in the White House Gardens.

The dinner is part of the main event for Biden’s first official visit to the White House as host since taking office in early 2021.

The dinner menu, which he will present to the French presidential couple, will include American specialtiesbutter-poached Maine lobster, American Osetra caviar and beef and potatoes, followed by cheeses from Oregon, California and Wisconsin.

The dishes will be accompanied by wines from California — Newton “Unfiltered” Chardonnay and Anakota “Knights Valley” Cabernet Sauvignon, along with California Roederer Estate Brut Rose sparkling wine with French roots.

On to dessert will include Orange Chiffon Cake and Roasted Pears with Citrus Syrup along with “glace creme fraiche”.

Serving a meal paired with American wine to official guests from France is not the first time Biden has done it.

Donald Trump had accompanied the dinner he hosted for Macron with a “Domaine Serene” Chardonnay from Oregon, from vines grown in Dijon, France, and an Oregon Pinot Noir from the winery “Domaine Drouhin”, which has its roots in Burgundy in the 1880s.

Barack Obama also accompanied a dinner he hosted for French President Francois Hollande with chardonnay from Virginia’s Thibaut-Janisson Winery, founded by two Frenchmen.
