“Elon Musk suspended my twitter account,” Taylor Lorenz, who covers the tech industry for the Washington Pos, wrote on her blog

A journalist’s account of her Washington Post on twitter was suspended today, following Elon Musk’s decision.

The move came just a day after the accounts of several journalists, who had been suspended amid controversy over the release of public data on the billionaire businessman’s jet routes, were reinstated.

The Twitter boss spoke this time of a “temporary suspension” linked to the “earlier disclosure of personal data”.

“Elon Musk suspended my twitter account,” Taylor Lorenz, who covers the tech industry for the Washington Post, wrote on her blog.

The multi-billionaire owner of the platform responded publicly on twitter that it is “temporary suspension due to previous disclosure of personal data from this account’ and that this measure ‘will be lifted soon’. He was responding to a user who asked him about the issue.

Taylor Lorenz explained that she asked Elon Musk a question via twitter, about an article she’s writing, because she couldn’t reach him through other channels.

“My colleague Drew Harwell, whose account has also been suspended, and I are working on an article about Musk and were hoping to get some feedback from him. We tried to contact him several times by email in the last few days,” the journalist said.

“At 20:30 (04:30 Greek time), I tried to reach him on twitter to get a comment,” she says, posting a screenshot of her post, in which she asks to be able to speak with him to discuss the subject he is working on.

“When I logged on (to Twitter) to see if he had answered our question, my account had been suspended. I have not received any information from the company regarding the reasons for the account suspension or the terms I violated,” added Taylor Lorenz.

Elon Musk last week suspended twit accountster of several journalists, whom he accused of endangering his family. Those accounts were back up and running on Saturday, but some reported being told to delete certain posts if they wanted to make full use of the platform.

Musk has drawn the ire of the European Union and the UN for suspending the accounts of journalists from CNN, the New York Times and the Washington Post in particular, while the vice president of the European Commission has even threatened him with sanctions.
