According to the filing, as reported by the Washington Post, Brodnax admitted he was inside the Capitol on Jan. 6, but to be photographed and filmed for music video purposes. As he claimed, he was already in Washington for filming when the episodes began.

He was then arrested on March 11 after authorities were alerted to his album cover “The Capital”in which he is pictured sitting in a truck in front of the Capitol building as the riots unfolded.
The rapper previously had convictions in Virginia and Maryland for drug manufacturing and firearms possession. He will now spend five months behind bars and will be released on parole.
