A Russian court today rejected the request to release her 26-year-old Daria Trepova is on bailwhich is accused of terrorism on the occasion of bomb attack from which the blogger and war supporter Vladlen Tatarsky was killed in early April by a bomb explosion in St. Petersburg.

Prosecutors have charged the 26-year-old with murdering Vladlen Tatarsky, whose real name was Maxim Fomin, by giving him a statuette that had explosives hidden inside it during a speech at a St. Petersburg cafe on April 2.

Investigators say the woman worked for a pro-Ukrainian organization with links to jailed Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny — claims Navalny’s associates and Kiev deny — and they charged her with terrorism-related charges.

A Moscow court today rejected Trepova’s request against her temporary detention until the trial, i.e. at least until June 2.

The request was procedural and did not concern the substance of the accusations against her.

Trepova claims she regrets what happened and wishes a speedy recovery to those injured in the attack, TASS news agency reported from the court.

Over 40 others were injured in the blast.

Trepova’s husband had told independent Russian media that he believed the woman had been duped and that he did not know the statuette she was told to hand over contained explosives.

Tatarsky was one of the best-known bloggers of a highly influential group that has risen to prominence since Russia invaded Ukraine.

They often embellish the establishment of the Russian armed forces and the way the war is waged by pushing for a more aggressive response in Ukraine.

Last year, in a video taken at a Kremlin ceremony celebrating the unilateral annexation of four regions of Ukraine, Tatarsky said Russia should “kill and rob everyone” in Ukraine.
