Kate Joseph, the former head of the government working group to coordinate the response to the pandemic in Britain, publicly apologized for a farewell party held at the Cabinet Office on December 17, 2020 on the occasion of her departure.

Ms. Joseph was the director general of the Covid working group in the cabinet. The building that houses the service communicates with Downing Street.

In a written statement, she states that that night she met with colleagues who worked in the office, consuming drinks because she was leaving the public administration. “I’m really sorry that I did this and the anger that people will feel as a result,” she said.

It is noted that this working group is responsible for planning restrictive measures against coronavirus and other related policies.

She revealed that her party is part of an investigation into alleged parties amid restrictions on Downing Street and other government agencies.
