A 15-year-old man was killed and three other people were injured yesterday Saturday afternoon in Stockholm, the police announced, according to which the circumstances of this tragic case still remain to be clarified.

About an hour after the events, two men were arrested after a chase in the southern part of the Swedish capital, according to the same source.

After being notified of gunfire near the south sector square shortly after 6:00 p.m [σ.σ. τοπική ώρα· 19:00 ώρα Ελλάδας], police found two people at the scene with gunshot wounds. Two other wounded were nearby, one of whom succumbed. The remaining three were taken to a hospital.

“The deceased is a 15-year-old boy,” Stockholm police spokesman Tuve Heg told AFP, adding that the circumstances of the attack have not yet been clarified.

The injured are another teenager, also 15 years old, a man and a woman, respectively 45 and 65 years old, both according to the police.

On Friday, three people were wounded by bullets in separate incidents in the Stockholm district.

In recent years, Sweden has struggled to stem a wave of gun attacks and bombings, attributed to a settlement of scores between gangs mainly involved in drug trafficking.

The Scandinavian country was the scene of 391 attacks involving weapons in 2022, of which 62 were fatal, compared to 45 the previous year, according to police data.
