The video shows how Russian forces destroy one of the kamikaze drones and how close the speedboat has come to the Russian ship
A shocking video of the Ukrainian drone attack on the Russian ship Priazovye in the Black Sea has been released.
The video shows how Russian forces destroy one of the kamikaze drones and how close the speedboat filled with kamikaze drones has come to the Russian ship. Russia claims its warship came under fire from six unmanned vessels and points out that at the same time a US RQ-4B Global Hawk drone carried out reconnaissance in the Black Sea.
The Priazovye was in roughly the same area as the spy ship Ivan Khurs which was also attacked by drones last month.
Russia has said both the Priazovye and Ivan Khurs are in the area monitoring the security of undersea gas pipelines – and it has been speculated that Ukraine may want to attack those supply routes.
The drone strikes were carried out in two waves of three drones, said war expert Andrew Medvedev.
The attempted sabotage of the reconnaissance ship Priazovye was finally repelled with machine gun fire, according to Russian accounts.
Ukraine is believed to have come close to sinking the Ivan Chars last month in the attack last month, according to a video captured by a camera on a drone that appears to show the unmanned vehicle striking the warship’s hull.
Ukrainian official Anton Gerashchenko said the unmanned maritime drone exploded near the reconnaissance warship, however, Russian sources on the other hand claimed the vessel remained intact – but offered no proof of this.
