Russia’s telecommunications regulator Roskomnadzor announced Sunday night that it had sent a letter to Meta, the Californian company owned by Facebook, asking for “immediate lifting of restrictions on the official account” of the Russian delegation in Vienna, responsible for the talks. of equipment.

The suspension of this account “constitutes an act of censorship” and “violates the fundamental principle of the free flow of information,” Roskomnadzor added.

The Facebook page was suspended on Friday on the grounds that it had posted “illegal content”, according to the head of the Russian delegation in Vienna, Konstantin Gavrilov. Even today it is not possible to access it.

Gavrilov told Russia’s Tass news agency yesterday that the mission was using the site to publish official announcements by Russian officials.

Meta has not yet commented on the matter.

In February 2021, the Twitter account of the same post was suspended.
