Writing alongside the pictures, the former prime minister’s wife, who is already mum to three-year-old Wilfred and 18-month-old Romy, revealed the newborn’s arrival and names in a series of adorable snaps.
Carrie, wearing a white dress, is seen holding the baby and looking adoringly at him. He also shared pictures of Frankie being covered by his big brother Wilf and lying in a basket.
Ms. johnson wrote: “Welcome to the world Frank Alfred Odysseus Johnson, born July 5th at 9.15am. (Can you guess which name my husband chose?!)
“I love every minute of the sleepy baby bubble. Seeing my two oldest embrace their new baby brother with such joy and excitement was the most wonderful thing I’ve ever seen. We are all ecstatic. “Thank you so much to the incredible NHS maternity team at UCLH. They really are the most amazing, caring people. I feel so incredibly grateful.
“Now, can anyone recommend a good range/set of canisters for breastfeeding? ‘Time to drink’.
The baby is the couple’s third together, but Daily Mail columnist Boris Johnson’s eighth. The former prime minister has four children from his marriage to lawyer Marina Wheeler. He also has a fifth child, Stephanie Macintyre, with art consultant Helen Macintyre.
Johnson was named Wilfred after Johnson’s grandfather with one of his middle names Lori being from her grandfather and the other being Nicholas, after a doctor who treated the former MP while he was battling Covid at St Thomas’ Hospital in London.
Their daughter Romy was named after Ms Johnson’s aunt Rosemary, her middle name Iris is the Greek for rainbow and her third name Charlotte was a tribute to Mr Johnson’s late mother.
In May, Ms Johnson announced she was expecting her third child, adding that the arrival was just weeks ago. She shared her pregnancy news on Instagram and said she had been feeling “pretty exhausted” for the past eight months, adding, “we can’t wait to meet this little one” in a few weeks.
