Jimmy Buffett was born on December 25, 1946 in Pascagoula. Although he dabbled in writing, acting and business, he was best known for his music, portraying an “island escape” lifestyle.

Jimmy rose to prominence with his sixth album containing the song ‘Margaritaville’ and the song ‘From St. Somwhere’. “Margaritaville” was released in 1977 and reached number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 where it remained for 22 weeks, making it his most popular single.

Buffett recorded 27 albums – four of which went platinum and eight went gold – in a five-decade career that included writing lyrics as well as managing a business empire.
