All the time the more the dissatisfaction of the German citizens grows about the immigration policy of Olaf Solz’s government and this is also recorded in the new major poll Deutschlandtrend on behalf of the public television ARD.

The majority of German respondents want, as shown by the poll, fewer refugees and immigrants in Germany, at a time when the debate on a new stricter immigration policy has opened for good in Germany and while the first measures have already been announced, such as stricter border controls with the Czech Republic and Poland.

Specifically, two out of three Germans (64%) think that for the time being the disadvantages resulting from the migration flows in Germany are more of the advantages and only one in four (27%) consider immigration in general to be an advantage for Germany.

Negative image for the integration of refugees

However, the data emerging on the integration of refugees into German society and the labor market are also negative. And here the vast majority of respondents 78% consider the German integration policy bad or very bad.

Correspondingly, the percentages of those citizens who find the process of allocation and accommodation of refugees in Germany to be bad are extremely high (73%). Respondents’ perception of the German policy of deporting all those whose asylum applications have been rejected is also overwhelmingly negative (80%).

The fact that 82% call for even stricter measures to limit immigration is even more sensational. and specifically an increase in border controls. 77% are still in favor of bilateral agreements with African countries, as well as the designation of countries such as Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia as “safe countries of origin”.

64% of the respondents are however in favor of a solution for the migrant worker at the European level, but at the same time there is a general doubt as to whether such a thing is possible.

And all this while, for the umpteenth time in months, the extreme right Alternative for Germany remains steadfast in second place with 22% after the Christian Union (28%). Also of interest is the fact that AfD is the only party to register an increase of almost 10 points compared to September 2022 at the federal level.
