Sirens also sounded in the early afternoon in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv during the opening session of the Knesset, sending lawmakers and other attendants to shelter and delaying the session, which was suspended for 40 minutes before resuming. At the same time, several loud explosions were heard over the areas.
