The members of the royal family express their opinion publicly only semiotically
Wearing a tie with the Greek flag and a blue and white handkerchief, King Charles appeared at the 28th UN Climate Conference in Dubai.
Since the members of the royal family express their opinion publicly only semioticallythe choice of the “Greek tie” by Charles at the given moment, a few days after his stop Rishi Sunak opposite to Kyriakos Mitsotakis on the occasion of Parthenon sculptures – says a lot.

In fact, the Daily Mail commented on the position taken by Rishi Sunak in the standard “family” photo of those who participated in the Conference, writing that the British Prime Minister was also behind Edi Rama!
“Mr Sunak was left behind in the leaders’ photo at the conference this morning. In fact, they put him behind the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama. As head of state, King Charles was in the front row of the group next to French President Emmanuel Macron,” the British tabloid said.
King Charles: “The Earth does not belong to us, we belong to the Earth”
King Charles appealed to leaders attending this year’s COP28 in Dubai to make this 28th UN Climate Conference a turning point along the lines of the Paris Agreement to accelerate climate actionas the countries begin two weeks of intense negotiations on oil, gas and coal.
“Records are broken so often that we become indifferent to what we hear”said King Charles during his first climate speech as a monarch from the floor of the COP28 in which he is participating and where he represents the British government, at the invitation of the United Arab Emirates.
“I pray with all my heart that this year’s COP28 will be another turning point for real change,” as the world is “not on the right track” in dealing with Climate Change and the global economy will be at risk if there is no swift environmental redress, he stated.
King Charles referred to the global effects of Climate Change citing as examples the cyclones that have caused massive disasters in island countriessuch as Vanuatu in the floods in India, Bangladesh and Pakistan and the devastating forest fires in the United States, Canada and Greece.
“We are living a terrifying experience of simultaneous change in all ecological conditions, at a rate that exceeds the capabilities of nature”he said, calling for the reform of the global financial system in favor of the energy transition.
“If we do not quickly repair and restore Nature’s unique economy, based on harmony and balance, which is our ultimate support, our very economy and survival will be endangered”warned the King of England, speaking about the participation of multilateral organizations and the private sector in climate action, the role of the insurance sector and the acceleration of innovation in the field of renewable energy.
“The Earth does not belong to us, we belong to the Earth”concluded.
