The Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sanchez expressed his support today to the tens of thousands of people who participated yesterday in the demonstrations in favor of Palestine, in many cities of the country.

“We, too, are with everyone and everything,” Sanchez said, during a Socialist Party conference in Galicia (northwest), referring to demonstrations “in many streets and many cities in Spain (…) for the recognition of a Palestinian state and the end of the war in Middle East».

The mobilizations, following a call from the platform Solidarity Network against the occupation of Palestine and with the central slogan “Stop the genocide in Palestine”, took place in several major cities, including Madrid, where the largest participation was recorded, 25,000 people, according to the government.

“We obviously condemn the horrific attacks by Hamas, we demand the unconditional and urgent release of all hostages in its hands Hamas“, the head of the Spanish government said today.

“However, with the same determination, we say to his government Netanyahu that the indiscriminate shelling and death of boys, girls and thousands of people in Gaza is not acceptable,” he added.

“We demand the implementation of a permanent ceasefire, we want humanitarian aid to enter Gaza, we want an international conference to be held for peace and recognition of Palestinian State from the entire international community”, Pedro Sanchez emphasized.

He expressed his support for the head of European diplomacy Joseph Borela Spanish socialist like himself, who attended the Galician congress.

“We are extremely proud” that Borrell raised “the voice and flag of human rights, including in Gaza and throughout the Middle East,” he said.

On Friday night in Valladolid, Borrell said “a two-state solution must be imposed from abroad for peace to exist”, accusing Netanyahu of “obstructing it”.
