Kim Jong Un had big plans for the “Floating Resort of the Great Barrier Reef”. Rename the hotel to Hotel Haegumgang (Hegumgang) and placed it in the sea region of Mount Kumgang..
In a period of good neighborliness with South Koreathe floating resort flourished and became iconic attraction by a South Korean company, Hyundai Asan, which organized trips to the area.
The hotel was often used to house tourists from the southern border, until a North Korean guard shot and killed a South Korean tourist in 2008.which is said to have entered military territory.
So, relations between the two countries froze again and the floating giant again began to surrender to abandonment.
The 2019, both North and South Korea agreed to reopen the hotelbut after a visit by Kim Jong Un to the resort and the ensuing pandemic, the plan was abandoned.
Yes, Kim Jong Un found that the floating resort was now cracked and ordered to go for “scrap”.
Since then the fate of the once impressive Barrier Reef Floating Resort has been unknown.
Information states that as early as 2022 it has begun to dissolve and other eyewitnesses say that it still remains rusted but standing.
