A woman and an eight-month-old baby were spotted today in the ruins of an apartment building which was affected on the night of Friday to Saturday by a Russian drone in Odessa, bringing the death toll to ten, Ukrainian authorities announced today.

Ten people were killed in the Russian attack on a nine-story apartment building in Odessa, including a woman “who was found in the rubble” and “an infant who was found next to this woman,” Odesa Governor Oleh Kiper said.

Previously the Ukrainian authorities had spoken of eight dead from this blow.

Rescue crews econfirmed the death toll of 10, specifying that the infant was “eight months old.” The mother and baby were “spotted hugging,” they wrote on Telegram.

Currently there is no more recent tally of the number of injured. Last Saturday night the rescuers had spoken of eight injured.

“Today Odessa and the province are mourning the victims of the Russian attack,” Kiper said in a separate post on Telegram, explaining that “the pain is great” for “all of Ukraine.”

Elsewhere in Ukraine, five people were injured overnight by Russian shelling in two areas of the Donetsk region, according to the Ukrainian prosecutor’s office.
