The leader of the French extreme right Jordan Bardela will be the candidate of his party, the National Alarm (RN), for the prime minister in France, the vice-president of the party Sébastien Séni announced today.

“Jordan Bardela was elected MEP, so he already has the people’s anointing” and “he is our candidate to go to Matignon”, the name of the prime minister’s residence, Seni told RTL radio station, the day after the announcement of early parliamentary elections after the success of the French far-right in the European elections.

Meanwhile, in a more recent statement after Sunday’s result, French President Emmanuel Macron said he had confidence in the French people’s ability to choose the fairest way for themselves and future generations.
