THE Donald Trump officially received the Republican nomination for the US presidential election, one day after the assassination attempt against him. The American politician and businessman also announced J. D. Vance as his vice-presidential candidate, ahead of the November 5 election.

Donald Trump has received enough early votes to become the Republican nominee for president, with the Florida delegation putting him on top.

THE J. D. Vance, Republican Senator from Ohio was once a fierce critic of the former president, who evolved into one of his staunchest defenders.

The announcement, broadcast on Trump’s social media sites, Truth, was made at the start of the four-day National Congress of Republicans in Milwaukee.

“After much deliberation and consideration, and considering the tremendous talents of many others, I have decided that the person best suited for the position of Vice President of the United States is Senator JD Vance of the Great State of Ohio,” Donald Trump wrote in his announcement.

The next step is to appoint Ohio Governor Mike DeVine as James David Vance’s replacement.
