The suspension also applies to the “two-way” connection between Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport and Beirut
Suspension of Air France and Transavia flights to Beirut extended again until Sunday 11 Augustdue to the geopolitical situation in Lebanon, as the two airlines confirmed to AFP today.
The resumption of activities – which were suspended on July 29 due to the “security situation in the Middle East” – will depend on “a new assessment of the situation in the region”, according to a statement posted last night on its website Air France.
The suspension also applies to “both directions” on the connection between Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport and Beirut, Air France told AFP.
“Air France reiterates that the safety of its customers and crew is its absolute priority,” the statement said.
Several other airlines have suspended flights to the Lebanese capital amid fears of a military escalation between Israel and Hezbollah.
Instead, Air France “continues to operate as normal” between France and Tel Aviv, the company said, while other international carriers such as Germany’s Lufthansa and Italy’s ITA announced last week that they were suspending flights to Tel Aviv for several days .
