No casualty count has been released at this stage
The israeli armed forces announced via Telegram in the early hours of the morning that they had launched a strike against a command center of the military arm of the Palestinian Islamic Movement Hamasestablished, according to them, in a building in her city Gaza (north) where a school used to operate, which has been turned into a reception center for internally displaced persons due to the war in the Gaza Strip, which today completes eleven months.
No casualty count has been released at this stage.
“Hamas terrorists used the command and control center to plan and carry out terrorist attacks” against troops and “the State of Israel,” according to their statement.
The Israeli Air Force conducted a “precision strike against terrorists operating” in the school by taking “measures to reduce the risk of civilian harm,” particularly by “using precision munitions, aerial surveillance and gathering additional intelligence.”
On August 20, the Israeli military said it also hit a Hamas “command center” in Gaza City, but Palestinian sources said the target was a school building housing hundreds of displaced people. At least ten people were killed.
Israel says it is hitting school infrastructure because it is being used by Hamas, accusing the Palestinian movement of using civilians as human shields. The Palestinian movement denies this.
