Zelensky to Skynews: World War III will begin – Russia treats us like animals

by

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, gave an interview to Sky Newsin which he stated that his country could not stop the war against Russia alone, noting that nations must act now before it is “too late”, while repeated his call to the West to impose a no-fly zone.

He once again criticized the countries that are undecided on the issue of “closing” the skies.

“If you are united against the Nazis and this terror, you must stop. Do not expect me to ask you many times, a million times. Close the sky. “Close the sky and stop the bombing,” he said.

Asked about Western concerns about a possible no-fly zone that could escalate the conflict into a direct confrontation with Russia, he said: “Worse for whom? For our families? No … For them …? Who knows; Nobody knows. But we know that this is very bad right now. “And in the future it will be too late.”

“Believe me, if it is extended, you will see … they will close the sky but we will lose millions of people.”

He added: “World War III will start and only then will you create a no-fly zone – but it will be too late.”

He said Russian forces “can understand us, but they certainly can not win” and added that Russian President Vladimir Putin was “going straight to hell”.

As he said, NATO allies should not say to the people in Ukraine who lost their children “sorry we did not do it yesterday, a week ago. We did not pressure Putin, we did not talk much with him.

Asked if he was willing to make a deal with Mr Putin, he said dialogue was always a compromise.

“Ukraine alone can not end the war,” he said. “It is a decision of two countries and two peoples and the decision of two presidents – and one of them is Putin, so we will see.”

Speaking about whether he believes staying in his role and staying in the country was the right decision, he said he thinks it would be difficult for Ukraine to remain united in the face of the Russian attack.

“I think my decision was right,” he said. “Who knows. “We will see in the future,” he said.

Regarding the multi-day siege of Mariupol, Zelensky said Russia was treating Ukrainians like animals, blocking access to basic necessities.

“They want us to feel like animals because they have blocked our cities. “The biggest cities in Ukraine have been blocked because our people do not want food and water.”
