Pro-Trump influencers are using a misleading map to declare an early victory for the Republican candidate.

Among them are influencers and members of Congress, who cite RealClearPolitics’ election results forecast to argue that Donald Trump is already the winner of the presidential race.

Specifically, the forecast uses data from various states to create a potential map, which, in this case, shows a Trump victory. Other polls are less favorable for Trump.

However, the RealClearPolitics map is titled: “Trump predicted he would retake the White House”, which is not real.

Alethea, a company that monitors online threats and disinformation, found numerous examples of popular accounts on X using the map to “cast doubt on the results of the election in the event that former President Trump loses the elections”.

Among those accounts was one belonging to Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.), who wrote, “STAY IN YOUR ROW! Keep voting! The @RCPolitics it highlights our victory!” RealClearPolitics had not, in fact, listed Trump as the winner of the race.
