“Creating the conditions for a two-state solution would be the next step in overcoming the violent phase of this crisis”
The crisis in the Middle East continues to escalate as a result of Israel’s aggressive militaristic policies supported by the United States, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with the Rossiiskaya Gazeta newspaper.
“The situation in the Middle East continues to deteriorate,” he said. “All of this is a direct result of Israel’s aggressive, militaristic policies, combined with Washington’s efforts to monopolize the mediation process while trashing UN Security Council resolutions, despite the fact that these documents were adopted by consensus.” .
In the words of the head of Russian diplomacy, Israel’s desire to ensure its own security at the expense of the security of others, while benefiting from the unwavering support it receives from the United States, leads nowhere and will affect relations between the Islamic world and Israel for many years.
“The return to normality of the situation with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is the only way to improve the situation in the entire Middle East, including Lebanon,” Lavrov continued.
“Creating conditions for a two-state solution would be the next step in overcoming the violent phase of this crisis,” Lavrov added. “We believe that in our efforts to achieve this goal we must allow the countries of this region to take center stage instead of those who try to impose their terms and conditions from abroad.”
