Thousands of people took to the streets of Jerusalem today against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing him of an anti -democratic derogation and of continuing the war in the Gaza Strip without thinking of the 58 hostages that Hamas still holds.

The demonstration, the largest in the Israeli capital for months, was organized by groups of Netanyahu opponents who were protesting his decision to dismiss Ronen Bar, head of the Internal Security Service (Sin Beth).

Following the announcement of the bar of the bar, the Israeli blows began again in Gaza, so the demonstration in front of Kneset took part and hostage -related families and relatives.

“We hope that all the people of Israel will join the movement and continue until the democracy is restored and the hostages are released,” said 68 -year -old Zev Berar, who went to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv to take part in the mobilizations.

“You are the leader, yours is the mistake” and “you have blood in your hands,” the concentrated shouted, addressing Netanyahu.

Others were holding banners with the slogan “we are all hostage”, while some were asking the US, a historical ally of the Jewish state, “to save Israel from Netanyahu”.

Approved new blows to the Gaza Strip, Netanyahu, as the hostage relatives estimate, “sacrificed” them, as they may be among the dozens of people who have lost their lives in the last two days in the Palestinian enclave.

Of the 251 people abducted in Hamas’ unprecedented attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, 58 remain in Gaza, of which 34 are dead, according to the Israeli army.

The protesters accused Netanyahu of taking advantage of the war against Hamas to silence his inner critics and gather more powers.

A draft reform of the judicial system, which provided for the reduction of the Supreme Court’s powers, had caused huge mobilizations in early 2023 and had divided Israel.

“The last two years has been a nightmare, it’s time to save the country and democracy,” said Yael Baron, a 55 -year -old resident of Montin.

The Israeli prime minister announced on Sunday that he is going to dismiss Sin Beth’s chief, claiming that he no longer has “confidence” after the failure of the service to prevent the bloody attack on October 7th. The Netanyahu government has also launched a process of dismantling the country’s Attorney General, which has expressed reservations about the policy it is pursuing.
