Three students were injured today in a knife at a school in Pirkala, southwestern Finland, and the suspect, a student of the educational institution, was arrested, police said today.

Police were alerted to the attack at 10:42 local time (and time in Greece) and have rushed first aid workshops

Police are investigating media information that the 16 -year -old student allegedly targeted girls during the attack, a police spokesman added.

The suspect allegedly sent a “manifesto” to the Finnish media this morning. It is said to have stated that he was planning to stab girls and then surrender to the police.

He also allegedly wrote that he was planning the attack for six months, according to local media.

The educational institution has a primary school and a Gymnasium, police said on its website.

The three injured do not bear injuries that put their lives at risk, police spokesman Nina Yurakou told AFP.
