Sales of Resphenol, a drug used for flu and cold symptoms, rose more than 170% from January to July compared to the same period in 2021, according to data from Iqvia, a company that monitors retail pharmaceuticals.
The surge happened during the months of fluctuation in Covid cases this year.
With demand on the rise, the manufacturer Kley Hertz says that it has increased the production of the box with 20 capsules of the drug by more than 800% compared to June to August 2022 with the same period last year.
The company says it is preparing to meet heated demand until December.
