‘Pedro Paulo made history’, says Lula about the actor’s death

On social networks, politicians and artists mourn the death of Pedo Paulo Rangel (1948 – 2022), the actor died this Wednesday (21), after spending months in hospital due to complications from a chronic lung disease.

The graduated president, Lula (PT), offered solidarity to his family and friends. “Pedro Paulo made history in soap operas, humor and theaters in the country with his talent and dedication. My fraternal hug to his family, fans and friends”, wrote the politician on his Twitter account.

“What a wonderful actor, a kind, sweet, subtle man,” actor Dan Stulbach wrote on his social media account. And he completed by saying “I will miss you Pepe. ❤️ Rest in peace”.

Playwright Walcyr Carrasco also paid tribute to the actor: “The dear and talented actor Pedro Paulo Rangel fulfilled his mission here on earth, aged 74. A great loss!”

Gregório Duvivier, actor, also used Twitter to mourn the artist’s death. “He was a delightful actor to watch. He colored, with infinite charisma, any scene. He lent humanity to supporting characters, always three-dimensional. He invented his own way of speaking, a bit French, but very carioca, hilarious”, he said.

“He marked the history of Brazilian dramaturgy. On television, he made unforgettable characters. Very saddened by his death. May God comfort his family and friends”, wrote federal deputy Marcelo Freixo, from the PSB.

The journalist and presenter Britto Jr. said that Rangel “Leaves the scene early, after having masterfully fulfilled his artistic role” in a tribute post on his Twitter.

Eduardo Suplicy (PT) recalled the important roles played by Rangel on national television: “He was on TV screens in unforgettable roles such as ‘Gabriela’ and ‘O Cravo e a Rosa'”, wrote the state deputy.
